The Winter Park DNA

Introducing the unique DNA of Winter Park FC the first across Orlando and Florida. The DNA covers every aspect of Winter Park FC from the mentality of players and teams, to the Training and Match Day provision that all Teams will follow across the Club.

What is it?

The DNA gives a consistent approach across the whole club with players working on key technical elements in training sessions (Passing and Receiving, Dribbling and Turning, Ball Protection and Finishing).

 On top of that Winter Park FC has identified unique and stand out Principles of Play both with and without the ball which helps add tactical and game related elements to players knowledge ready for them to use on the pitch. From how we look to build and finish attacks to how we react to losing the ball and regain the ball.

How do we implement this?

A year’s worth of periodization is implemented from the start of Pre-Season which all age groups follow breaking down which technique and topic Winter Park FC will work on. This is all related back to the curriculum of our DNA i.e. technical elements, Principles of Play and Topics used across the club.

U7 – U11 age groups will have a week’s worth of sessions split up into a ball mastery, a technical element for the week and then moving into a small sided scrimmage with a focus on a precise principle of the game. U12’s and above will follow a different curriculum with weekly sessions designed around Pre-Activation Exercises, Club Warm up, technical element, tactical related topic and small sided scrimmage.

With the aim for Winter Park to be a leading provider in educating players in a way they can think for themselves showcasing technical elements and principles of play that they have worked hard on throughout the Season.
